THE ESSENTIALS

Connection Church is a community of individuals who are unified by the life giving message of Jesus Christ and who serve the North/West Tampa Area.  Our vision is to connect real people, to a real God, in a real world.  We do this by preaching the life-giving gospel, equipping people to be followers of Jesus Christ and giving them the opportunity to serve by using their gifts and talents.

As a church center around essential beliefs that provide unity.  In the non-essential, we have liberty.  And above all and through all our beliefs, we show love through Jesus Christ.

Our Essential Beliefs

GOD

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

JESUS

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in his virgin birth; in his sinless life; in his miracles; in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood; in his bodily resurrection; in his ascension to the rich hand of the Father; and in his personal return in power and glory.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life; we further believe his power and gifts are available to believers today.

SALVATION

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with the living God.

SCRIPTURE

We believe the Bible is God’s infallible and authoritative word that was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

SACRAMENTS

We believe it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church.  Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism and the regular taking of Communion.  We do no believe that either of these practices are essential for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.
